Germany's Lie: John Demjanjuk and German Normality

In his recent study Unser Kampf: 1968, historian Götz Aly provides details from the CVs of two leading West Berlin police officials at the time of the 1967 shooting of student protestor Benno Ohnesorg. The thoroughly ordinary German biographies of the two men cast an instructive light upon Germany’s plans to try John Demjanjuk.
